The materials used for cable accessories must possess excellent electrical insulation properties to ensure that neither dielectric breakdown nor partial discharge occurs during prolonged operation under high-voltage conditions. Consequently, commonly utilized materials-such as cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), silicone rubber, and epoxy resin-typically exhibit high dielectric strength and stable dielectric loss characteristics; these materials are capable of effectively withstanding the influence of electric fields while maintaining long-term stability.

Furthermore, these materials must possess robust tensile, compressive, and impact resistance capabilities to accommodate the external forces exerted on the cable during installation and operation. Concurrently, the materials are required to exhibit a certain degree of flexibility, enabling them to adapt to the cable's thermal expansion and contraction, as well as operational vibrations, thereby preventing issues such as cracking or structural failure.

In addition, cable accessory materials must demonstrate excellent environmental adaptability and aging resistance. In complex environments-characterized by high humidity, salt spray, or extreme temperatures-they must maintain stable physical and chemical properties, remaining resistant to aging, corrosion, or performance degradation. Strong flame retardancy, water resistance, and UV resistance are also critical criteria; collectively, these comprehensive requirements ensure the safety and reliability of cable accessories throughout their long-term operational lifespan.
